one. we're also keeping an eye on a tropical disturbance that could affect florida in the future. and we have a look at this predicted track. steve? >> reporter: that is 99 l., and it is an area of investigation, and that's why they call it an invest, but it could become a tropical depression and potential limor than that as we get closer into the weekend that is invest 99 l. we have the tropical storm farther out closer to africa that should stay out to sea and fiona the remnants are located. so hurricane hunters flew into this today and they saw a 37- mile-per-hour wind gust and also called it elongated and disorganized, although it is likely over the next 24 hours we'll see a bit more organization that should pass north or near puerto rico. it could read some rain for that islanok at all like a classic tropical system, but it is a large geographic syem and if it gets organized, it could become a formidable

weekend. now, the spaghetti models show that clear track toward the southeastern portion of the constituent of florida, and several computer models are suggesting that, potentially strengthening into a tropical sturm or hurricane, so a lot -- storm or hurricane, so a lot can happen. strengthening is likely as it gets over warmer waters. thank you. and with the height of hurricane season around the corner, now is a good time, in , prepare for the big one. >> exactly. the last hurricane to move through was wilma in 2005. can you -- wilma in 2005. can you believe that? paul, you talked to a lot of folks, some on our facebook page, twitter, some ton streets. are -- on the streets.

bridge would be covered, under water, and it could be even more dangerous than that. >> a lot to think about. scary to think about at times. thank you. live along bay shore boulevard in tampa tonight. we are learning new details about the young bicyclist killed in tampa. we first brought you this story as breaking news last night. we now nee at the heart of it all -- we now know in the heart of it all, three young collided. the bicyclist was killed after veer ing into traffic. he was hit by two other drivers, both young men in their early 20s. the witnesses tell us they feared this start of thing would happen one day. >> they act like it is a dragway. it is not an interstate like -- it is pretty bad here. there's a lot of accidents here on this corner. >> the florida highway patrol is still reviewing the case. as for the two drivers, they are not facing criminal charges

disturbing ago in the county that's where the detectives charged a man who traveling from new york to have sex with a 13-year-old girl. the victim's parents came home from vacation to find the 21- year-old hiding in their daughter's closet. he admitted to detectives he took a train to meet the girl for sex. the investigators also found nude photos of her on his phone. and in citrus county today, we learned that the man caught on camera trying to kidnap a girl from a dollar general store was found incompetent to stand trial. instead he will head to a mental health treatment facility. he was caught trying to kidnap a 13-year-old girl in june. the girl's mother, a store clerk and deputy all jumped in to stop him from doing that. air conditioners stopped working for thousands of people in miami-dade county thanks the a fire at a substation. after an explosion, 27,000 people lost power and most have

rerestored. -- restored. fortunately no one was injured. and today president obama visited parts of louisiana. he spoke with families impacted by the tragedy. more than 100,000 have applied for federal assistance because of all of this water. the visit comes after several days of criticism from those who believe the president should have made this trip sooner. all eyes are on florida now as both presidential candidates work to drum up support here in the sunshine state. the former president bill clinton stopped in the area a fundraiser. tomorrow, huge crowds will likely turn out for donald trump. the doors open at the fairgrounds at 10:00 and he is expected to take the stage at 1:00. still to come, a frightening carjacking in the parking lot of a polk county restaurant. >> exin, this new --and next, this new surveillance video. >> and how much this essential

a deputies in polk county are looking for this man linked to the carjacking of woman at the bone fish grill in lakeland. the detectives hope viewers like you watching this video will help you solve this case. >> maybe something about what he was wear organize a mannerism. we other live at the restaurant in lakeland. this is where it all went down. >> reporter: it was. right here in this parking lot of the bone fish grill, that's where deputies tell us a girl

late on sunday night, early monday morning. she say as guy approached her. he had chain wrapped and his hand and demanded her car. she gave it to him. look here at this 7-eleven. that's where the deputies say video was taken early into monday morning, video that could help catch this menacing man. this is a man the police are looking for. you can see him here acting erratic, even throwing his hat. the police think he carjacked a take another good look. the police think he is the man seen here wearing the black shirt with the white design, sneakers and hat. you even see him in part of the video talking to another group of people. the suspect is described as white male, slim build. about 5'8" tall wearing a dark shirt, shorts and a ball cap. the victim's toyota avalon was found crashed and burned about

93 degrees. that's the forecast for wednesday. 92 degrees thursday. 92 on friday. again, you can see the temperatures are likely going to stay very close to or above normal. and that chance is running at seasonal levels. 40% for wednesday, thursday, friday and saturday. possibly higher on sunday. we're definitely in the range and we're back in a feastly flow which is our more typical flow with the west coast sea bries and the collision. you know the routine. at noon, 88 degrees that is our possibility of showers developing, but with a northeastly flow, and moving to the west. at 4:00 p.m., near 90 degrees. 81, seminole. the areas that did get showers helped to drop the temperature considerably. 77 degrees wesley chapel. we tend to hold on to these temperatures close to the afternoon temperatures after showers occur. lots of moisture in the atmosphere. it doesn't allow the air to

nosily at the surface and it continues to move showers in that direction, but with the heating of the day it helps to enhance our activity. i didn't show you the gaston path at the top of the news path, but you can see that is going to be a category one hurricane potentially sometime tomorrow and also potentially long term, could become, could become auto category two storm. it is well east of us, not really a concern for us. obviously it helps us to watch the tropics and remind us we're heading towards the peak many, many hurricanes through the years. a 76% chance of development for 99 l. and that's what we will be watching very closely for potential development into a tropical depression. really it will probably be more like friday when it gets closer to the waller waters. we're -- warmer waters. we're seeing warmer waters. that tends to generate energy for these tropical systems, as

european computer model, is forecasting it to deep to south florida, potentially sometime on sunday. but we'll see. a lot can happen up until that point. the forecast locally calls for partly cloudy skies. mostly sunny skies to start the day. in the afternoon the showers roll across the area. we will see a west coast sea breeze push against that flow and that's where we typically see the collision0s cur. as for thursday morning, more of the same. partly cloudy skies a few clouds around as well. for thursday, decent afternoon rain chance. a seasonal chance at 40 mrs. we'll carry that all the way into the weekend. so there is our 40% chance. high temperatures remain low 90s through this period. upper 70s carry all the way for the overnight lows into the weekend, and we'll continue to keep an eye on the tropics to see how that potentially could affect our weather with -- if the system would continue to the sot of us, that would --
